Dependent Visas (Working Rights Visa)

If you are a dependent of a Goan family member who holds a Portuguese passport, and you’re seeking working rights in the UK, here’s how we can assist with the visa application.

If You Are a Dependent Family Member

(Spouse, Child, Parent, etc.)

If the Goan-Portuguese Passport Holder Has Settled or Pre-settled Status in the UK:

  • You may apply to join them under the EU Settlement Scheme (Family Permit or Join Family Member route).

  • Once in the UK on this route, you will have the right to work.

Key Conditions:

  • Your family relationship must have existed before 31 December 2020, unless you’re a child born or adopted after that.

  • You must apply under the EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit, and once in the UK, apply for pre-settled status.

If They Moved to the UK After Brexit (from 2021 onward):

  • The EU Settlement Scheme does not apply.

  • You would need to apply through the standard UK immigration routes:

    • Skilled Worker Visa

    • Spouse/Partner visa (if married to a British or settled person)

    • Student Dependent Visa

    • Other relevant family or work visa routes
