If you are a dependent of a Goan family member who holds a Portuguese passport, and you’re seeking working rights in the UK, here’s how we can assist with the visa application.
If You Are a Dependent Family Member
(Spouse, Child, Parent, etc.)
If the Goan-Portuguese Passport Holder Has Settled or Pre-settled Status in the UK:
You may apply to join them under the EU Settlement Scheme (Family Permit or Join Family Member route).
Once in the UK on this route, you will have the right to work.
Key Conditions:
Your family relationship must have existed before 31 December 2020, unless you’re a child born or adopted after that.
You must apply under the EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit, and once in the UK, apply for pre-settled status.
If They Moved to the UK After Brexit (from 2021 onward):
The EU Settlement Scheme does not apply.
You would need to apply through the standard UK immigration routes:
Skilled Worker Visa
Spouse/Partner visa (if married to a British or settled person)
Student Dependent Visa
